We have success and several new little ones. I checked the incubator early Saturday morning and all was well. About an hour later Tanner came over and noticed one egg had started to crack. He excitedly rang his friends who came over in like 5 minutes flat. They were all very excited and ready to see the outcome of all their hard work.
One by one the eggs started hatching and we ended up with 14 new chicks. We have moved the chicks to a heated area till the boys can set up an area at their own houses. They have decided they want to look after them and when they are a lot bigger they will move them to the coop at school.
The boys are so proud of the new chicks and are just like proud parents. All chicks have been named and each boy has picked out their favorites.

We are on to day 19 and the boys have just raised the humidity on the incubator. Today they will stop turning the eggs so the chicks can get prepared to hatch. The boys are so excited and looking forward to the chicks hatching. There are now 9 boys coming over to check the incubator everyday. They have also filled the wells on the incubator and put the plugs in place to keep the humidity steady. Hopefully it will remain stable to the eggs hatch so we wont need to open the door on the incubator.
The boys know if they open the door it could mean the chickens will become dry and the eggs shell could stick to the chickens making it hard or impossible for them to hatch.
Cross your fingers for the chicks and for the boys. Im so proud of the boys for sticking to this project from start to finish.
Have a great day Travis
